It represents, after all, five years of my life as Director of Research with the designers MET Studio.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was a dull Sunday afternoon, but I was pleased to see so many families and children enjoying one of the few (the only?) grass roofed buildings in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, due to a bird flu warning we could not get out into the wetlands reserve. A maze was a great source of fun and you soon forgot the cliff-like wall of residential blocks behind you that partly make up \u201cThe City of Sadness\u201d, Tin Shui Wai.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The approach to the building still provides a nice wind down from the urban environment, beginning to introduce themes of ecology and a water channel that will broaden out as you enter the atrium.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018What Are Wetlands?\u2019 gallery still provides a good introduction to the overall topic and I was pleasantly surprised (throughout) to see how relatively few of the interactives were out of order.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1839\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winkle-picker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"410\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018Living Wetlands\u2019 gallery provides some spectacular moments \u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1840\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winkle-picker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"730\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018Humans Culture\u2019 gallery still provides some magical moments \u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1841\" src=\"https:\/\/www.winkle-picker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/image-3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"730\" height=\"410\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And the \u2018Wetland Challenge\u2019 gallery was catering for large groups of teenagers\u2019 button-pushing tendencies.
