We’re delighted to share that The Diversity Hub has been featured on Nikkei Asia in an article published on 26th April 2026. This recognition from one of Asia’s most respected international news platforms is a meaningful moment — not just for the project itself, but for the wider conversations it seeks to support.
The Diversity Hub was conceived as more than a physical space. It is an interpretive environment shaped by real voices, real stories, and real challenges — bringing together narratives that reflect the diversity of Hong Kong’s communities.
Developed in collaboration with Christian Action and Sugar Design HK, the project explores themes of inclusion, identity and social cohesion through a carefully layered combination of:
- Personal testimony
- Archival material
- Contemporary graphics and spatial storytelling
- Multimedia interpretation
The feature by Nikkei Asia highlights the growing relevance of projects like The Diversity Hub across the region. As cities continue to evolve—socially, culturally, and economically—there is an increasing need for spaces that interpret diversity with nuance and authenticity, rather than simplification.
For Winkle-picker, this sits firmly within our long-standing belief that interpretation is not about presenting information, it is about shaping understanding.
Projects of this nature are always the result of close collaboration between client, designers (in this case Sugar Design HK), content specialists, and contributors.
We are particularly pleased to see the work recognised internationally alongside the efforts of the wider team and partners involved in bringing The Diversity Hub to life.
