Jeffrey Andrews and Colin ‘Fred’ Fredricson pick up the IDA Award on a rainy night in Bangkok
We’re proud to share that Jeffrey Andrews of Christian Action and Colin Fredricson of Sugar HK collected the International Design Award in Bangkok on behalf of the Winkle-picker and Sugar HK team for the Diversity Hub — a project that proves design can be a powerful force for social good.
The Diversity Hub, based in Chungking Mansion in Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong, was created as more than an exhibition space. It is a platform for youth development, community storytelling, and cultural exchange — amplifying voices that are too often underrepresented and creating opportunities for young people to build confidence, skills, and pride through guided tours, public speaking, and shared cultural experiences.
Receiving this award recognises not only design excellence, but the deep collaboration behind the project. From Christian Action’s commitment to social impact, to Sugar HK’s narrative-driven design expertise, and Winkle-picker’s heritage-led interpretive approach, the Diversity Hub represents what can happen when purpose and creativity align.
Picking up the award in Bangkok, Jeffrey Andrews and Colin Fredricson represented the many designers, partners, educators, and community members who helped bring the project to life. It’s a moment that celebrates teamwork, shared values, and a belief that great design doesn’t just look good—it makes a difference.
Congratulations to everyone involved in making the Diversity Hub an award-winning example of inclusive, meaningful design.
