From first setting foot in the gallery, visitors are aware that they are on a journey back in time to ascend into a strange but familiar world full of creatures that hold an enduring fascination for young and old alike.
A digital sleeve provides a backdrop to the entire gallery within which a ramp is punctuated by a series of platforms. We use the full height of the gallery to allow visitors to circulate up the ramp through various time zones and biomes, exploring topics on expansive platforms as they go.
Around the perimeter, monumental-scale open storage of fossils blends into a digital backdrop that allows us to present our evolving understanding of dinosaurs. Within this context, we present full-size dioramas of biomes to explain how dinosaurs lived … and died.
The story of dinosaurs is epic in scale , as well as about the lives of individuals. Correspondingly, our gallery uses the full range of exhibit techniques – from large-scale audiovisual displays, to walkthrough dioramas to interactive stations to immersive shows.
