Malaysian Expo Pavilion 2015

Proposal

The iconic pandan leaf acted as inspiration for this proposal for the Malaysian Pavilion at the 2015 Expo.

Project Details

We developed a concept proposal for the design of the 2015 Expo Malaysian Pavilion that derived its inspiration from an elegantly twisted pandan leaf. Visitors would move from the ground floor through sweeping interior and exterior exhibition spaces to the rooftop garden with views overlooking the Expo site. Inside was an immersive experience of Malaysian culture through exhibition areas revealing the many charms of the nation and highlighting efforts being made towards sustainable food production. The entire experience culminated in the pavilion café where visitors were encouraged to try one of Malaysia’s most symbolic dishes, Nasi Lemak, of course elegantly wrapped in a pandan leaf.
