CLP Pulse has won not one but two IDA Silver awards for Cultural Interior Design / Preservation Site and Cultural Interior Design / Heritage.

First designed as CLP’s Head Office in 1940, this Grade-1 historic building has been revitalised as a museum and cultural hub. This showcases the intertwined histories of Hong Kong’s electricity development and the Kadoorie Family, as well as promoting decarbonisation and sustainable development through experiential activities. Three themed exhibitions on its ground floor and first floor – ‘ElectriCity’ details the development of Hong Kong’s electricity supply, ‘Our Home, Our History’ tells the story of the Kadoorie family, and ‘Traces of Human Touch’. 2 other floors of offices and boardroom and the whole building cooled with radiant panels, a first in Hong Kong and huge energy savings plus a 5th generation Peak Tram in the solar garden. LEED Platinum achieved.

The International Design Awards (IDA) exists to recognize, celebrate and promote exceptional design visionaries and discover emerging talent in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic and Fashion Design worldwide.  The Farmani Group founded the IDA as the design sibling of the Annual Lucie Awards for Photography, which has emerged as one of the world’s most prestigious photography awards.

Winkle-picker was responsible for the initial Interpretive Plan for the CLP Pulse experience and worked with Sugar HK on the graphic scripting.
