A new HSBC History Wall has been installed in Singapore. This tells the tailor-made story HSBC’s development in the city-state within the wide context of HSBC as a whole usually richly layered graphics and objects. It joins other History Walls in Dubai, Istanbul, Tokyo, Paris and Birmingham.

Tai Kwun wins UNESCO prize

As Tai Kwun wins UNESCO prize, Winkle-picker is proud to report that it has been given a Certificate of Excellence for Cultural Heritage Conservation.

As well as the restoration work, architectural and engineering solutions, and conservation, the heritage interpretation on which Winkle-picker worked for nearly 10 years was singled out for praise. It concludes, “against tremendous commercial and real estate pressures, the successful realization of Tai Kwun stands as a testimony to Hong Kong SAR’s commitment to heritage.”

Peak Tram closed for upgrade

The Peak Tram will be closed from today (23rd April) until mid-July for upgrade of infrastructure, haulage system, carriages and public areas. There will be significant upgrades to the public areas immediately surrounding the Lower Terminus, both outside St John’s Building and along Tramway Path, leading from the new Lower Terminus alighting platform. We are proud to have been involved in storyline research for the upgrade of the waiting areas in partnership with Sarner and look forward to this exciting project coming to fruition.
